Practical teaching
A weekly video names a real area of life and grounds the work in biblical truth—not clichés or easy answers.
An exploratory Catholic pilot · forming for 2027
Freedom Session invites you to rewrite your story with a God-inspired ending—through Jesus, honest reflection and a small group that walks with you.
Join the interest listWhat is Freedom Session?
Freedom Session is a proven healing-discipleship journey for people ready to look honestly at how they face life’s challenges and discover the abundant life God intended.
It brings biblical teaching, guided personal reflection and honest small-group conversation together. Participants name the deeper hurts and false beliefs beneath patterns such as anger, fear, perfectionism, people-pleasing, addiction, shame and broken relationships.
As Jesus heals the heart, unhealthy ways of escaping pain become less necessary. Shame loses its grip. Lies are replaced by God’s truth and practical skills for living in freedom and purpose.
“Jesus doesn’t identify you according to your behaviours or behaviours committed against you; neither will we.”
What it’s actually like
This is not a lecture series or a place to perform wellness. It is a structured, relational journey: one honest step each week, with room for Jesus to meet you in the story you really carry.
A weekly video names a real area of life and grounds the work in biblical truth—not clichés or easy answers.
Workbook exercises help move what you are learning from your head into the particulars of your own story, choices and relationships.
Gender-specific small groups offer a steady place to speak honestly, listen without fixing and discover that you are not alone.
You practise forgiveness, repentance, amends, healthy boundaries and accountability—tools for walking out freedom in ordinary life.
What makes this Catholic?
The exploratory pilot asks how the established Freedom Session pathway can serve Catholics faithfully—without remaking the program or flattening Catholic life.
Its movement through truth, confession, repentance, forgiveness, amends and renewed identity in Christ naturally meets Reconciliation, the Eucharist, spiritual direction and the Church’s call to ongoing conversion.
The Catholic expression would make those connections explicit while preserving what sits at the heart of Freedom Session: people walking with people, opening their lives and wills to the leadership of Jesus.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Jesus · John 10:10
The proposed pilot journey
The Catholic pilot would run Foundations — the 20-week, two-workbook core of Freedom Session. Participants explore and find freedom from the past: pain they've experienced, pain they've caused, resentment, guilt, shame and lies. As healing occurs, false beliefs and unhealthy patterns are broken.
Unit 01 · Weeks 1–10
Take an honest look at past experiences and destructive behaviours — including the ways others have hurt you — and begin naming what has shaped your life.
Unit 02 · Weeks 11–20
Own the ways you've hurt God and others; work through repentance and forgiveness; make amends, rebuild relationships, and embrace a renewed identity in Christ.
Each week opens with practical biblical teaching on the week's theme.
Guided conversation goes deeper on the teaching in trusted, gender-specific groups.
A weekly workbook assignment helps you apply what you're learning to your own story.
For Catholic participants
We're asking Catholics in this pilot to hold an open frame — to receive Freedom Session as it is, on its own terms, rather than deciding in advance what fits and what doesn't.
And where something doesn't sit well — where you're unsure how a particular element reconciles with Catholic teaching — bring it. Name it. Trusted Catholic advisors, priests and other leaders, will wrestle with those questions alongside the pilot, so nothing gets glossed over and nothing gets forced.
The Catholic pilot
Catholic FS Pilot Liaison
Kevin Chiang is serving as Catholic FS Pilot Liaison — the person making the pilot happen: gathering interest, shaping the Catholic expression of Foundations, and building the team to run it.
Kevin leads partnerships at Glass Canvas Ministries and has spent a decade forming people through community and discipleship. He wants to see this pilot exist, and he's putting his hand up to carry it.
The interest list is open — potential participants, parish leaders and collaborators can follow along as the January launch takes shape.
Help shape the path
